Secretary's Report was read and accepted; by Bob Crino; he took the April minutes in Mindy’s absence.

Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted;; Don Collins

·         Tim Austin is waiting for the packets for the kids reservations to Columbia, South Carolina he thinks the dates are August 13-17.  Flights are around $715 and that’s the price checking this early.  Ron Sweeney says there is a new airline coming to Burlington airport next week that is supposed to be cheaper flights.

·         Mark Stanislas was supposed to get information about what we should do about the 501C but he was not present at this meeting.  I will contact my accountant and see how much he would charge us to get us set up.  We are already incorporated as a non-profit.

·         Norm attended the President’s Conference at the 2008 National Championship.  Our membership has increased by approximately 2,000 members since last year.  The increase is good but they are hoping for more.  When we joined the FLW they said they would pay us $1,000,000 if we hit a membership of 35,000.  The more members we have the more they pay us and that increases the working capital at the Divisionals and the TBF National Championship.  They are starting a new program to try to increase membership.  Right now there are four states that do not belong and they are Nevada, New Mexico, South Dakota and New York.  New York is working on it.  Norm is meeting with people from New York to help get them up and running.

·         Some benefits of belonging to the TBF are that we get priority entry into the BFL and the FLW Series and Tour.  We could also join the Redfish, Stripper or Walleye tours.  We get discounts on Sprint, health insurance and boat insurance.  We get a four page minimum in the FLW magazine.  They are looking for stories so if you have any feel free to e-mail them.  There are also 18 slots guaranteed to Federation members in the BassFan Army weekend warrior championship.

 ·         There were 700 youth kits in circulation and no one is sending back info on how they were used and if this continues to be a problem there will be no more kits available.  Tim Austin said we haven’t used our yet, we are waiting to use it at the air show.

·         Out of our $15 dues $6.00 goes to divisional payouts, $6.00 goes to the insurance policy and $3.00 goes to the National Federation Champion.  At this time the only problem with this break down is the insurance policy because there were two accidents during night fishing tournaments so our insurance has gone up.  Night tournaments will probably not be covered in the future.

·         There is FLW Fantasy Fishing on line and they are pushing this so if you are interested log on.

·         Thanks to Bill Spence we have a gift certificate from Lowrance for 08/09.

·         We do have to order from Minnkota through Norm.  We also need to determine the number of our members that have Minnkota and get that info to them.  Please ask at your next club meeting and let Norm know

·         Norm has been elected Divisional Representative for the Eastern Division he is also Vice-President of the Board and also is coordinating the conservation directors.  Norm can’t do all of this and be our President as of January 1st because it will be a conflict of interest.  Norm has been our President for 15 years.

·         The 2008 Divisionals are at Winni and everything is coming along good for that.  We will take off out of Silver Sands and weigh in at Ellacoya State Park.  The Federation Nation is holding theirs at Winni at the same time and they are taking off out of Margate Resort.

·         The 2008 State Team has come up with the following budget and proposal to the board:

                INCOME                                                               EXPENSES

The balance left over is $1,593.  In addition to that the team is asking the Federation to pay for shirts and jackets for the new member s on the team.  The total for them is $900.  A motion was made and seconded for the federation to accept the budget and pay the $1,593 and the $900 for jackets and shirts the motion passed with everyone in favor.  If the team comes out ahead with the budget by making more money at opens or higher winnings the money stays with the team.  All members of the team are to keep their gas receipts in case there is extra money to be paid out.

·         A motion was made and seconded to put the Lowrance & Minn-kota products out for bid with the following reserves:

The motion passed with all in favor.

·         There was discussion about what to purchase with the $800 Lowrance money for this year and a motion was made and seconded to purchase an X67C and a 522C.  The motion passed with all in favor.

Respectfully submitted, Mindy Gagner
