A week at Conservation Camp will last a child a lifetime.
The Fish and Wildlife Department operates two facilities: Edward F. Kehoe Conservation Camp, which sits high on a hill, over-looking Vermont’s largest inland lake, Bomoseen, with the Green Mountain Range as a backdrop, and Buck Lake in Woodbury, which sets in the woods, surrounding a pristine 39-acre pond where the only sounds heard come from loons, bullfrogs and night-hooting owls.
A child spending a week at the Conservation Camp will get their hunter certification, find new friends, and create lasting memories. Please consider giving to the Green Mountain Conservation Camp Endowment Fund to make the camps a better place for our kids.
Specific curriculum topics on outdoor safety skills and natural resource conservation include the following:
Vermont’s fish and wildlife
Forests and forestry
Wetland ecology
Building bluebird boxes
First aid and outdoor safety
Fly-fishing and spincasting
Fly-tying
Archery
Hiking and camping
Hunter education
Furbearer management
